Fuzhou City has a long history and deep cultural heritage, with a history of more than 2,200 years since the founding of the city. In the 13th year of Tang Kaiyuan (725), Fuzhou was elevated to be the capital of Fuzhou, and the capital was set up in the city (now Guping Road). The name of Fuzhou has been used until now, and it was named because of a Fushan Mountain in its territory, and the city was built in the fifth year of Emperor Gao Di of the Han Dynasty (202 years ago). Since the Ming Dynasty, Fuzhou has been the capital of Fujian Province; in 1946, Fuzhou was established as a city. Fuzhou is the core city of Fuzhou Metropolitan Area, one of the central cities of the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Straits as approved by the State Council, a riverside and coastal ecological garden city, and the residence of the Army organs in the Eastern Theater of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. Fuzhou is a national famous historical and cultural city, with four major cultural cards, such as Tan Shi Shan, Ship's Government, San Fang Qixiang, Shoushan Stone, etc., from which a number of historical celebrities, such as Lin Zexu, Shen Baozhen, Yan Fu, etc., have come out. Fuzhou Mawei District is the cradle of China's modern navy, the birthplace of China's shipbuilding culture, and one of the five earliest open ports of commerce in modern China.
