With the launch of the national “Belt and Road” economic strategy, Baoshan in Yunnan has emerged as a key hub for industrial relocation. Baoshan serves as a critical node and major hub at the intersection of two major transportation routes and economic corridors: the Kunming-Ruili corridor extending to Kyaukpyu in Myanmar, and the Kunming-Tengchong corridor extending to Myitkyina in Myanmar and connecting to South Asia.The development of the China-Myanmar-India-Bangladesh Economic Corridor, of which Baoshan is a part, is an indispensable component of the national "Belt and Road" initiative.The Baoshan Industrial and Trade Park is one of the provincial-level industrial parks. The Baoshan Light Textile Industrial Park covers a planned area of 7.92 square kilometers. Guided by the development philosophy of “market-driven, strengthening end-products, improving supporting facilities, and promoting coordinated development,” the park focuses on developing end-products such as apparel, home textiles, industrial textiles, footwear, and luggage. It also leverages local and regional raw material resources to support related spinning, weaving, and dyeing operations.The goal is to transform the park into a regional platform for international economic cooperation with South and Southeast Asia; the leading force and core cluster for Yunnan’s light textile industry; a key demonstration base for the transfer of light textile industries in the western region and across the country; and a new type of urban complex integrating industry and city life with a harmonious living environment. Upon completion, the park is projected to generate an annual industrial output value of 26 billion yuan, with profits and taxes totaling approximately 1.8 billion yuan, and directly creating about 100,000 jobs.
