1. Overview of the Development Zone
On August 29, 2017, the Pingding Economic and Technological Development Zone was established with the approval of the provincial government. The development zone has a total planned area of 46.52 square kilometers. Due to the topographical characteristics of “abundant mountains and limited land,” its overall layout consists of “one zone, two parks, and five clusters.”

2. Transportation and Location
The development zone is adjacent to the Tai-Jiu Expressway, Tian-Li Expressway, Yang-Wu Expressway, and National Highways 207 and 307. The Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Electrified Railway and the Yang-She Railway (Yang-Da Railway) traverse the planned area in an east-west and north-south direction, respectively. The newly planned realignment projects for National Highways 307 and 207 will cross the central area of the planned zone in a north-south direction, making transportation extremely convenient.

3. Industrial Foundation
New Materials: Led by Shanxi Zhaofeng Aluminum & Power Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Bettery New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Future development goals include extending downstream high-value-added industrial chains to form a coal-power-ash-aluminum circular economy; and further developing high-end advanced materials such as lithium titanate, lithium iron phosphate, layered lithium manganese oxide, and nano-conductive agents.
Modern Coal Chemical Industry: Driven by Yangmei Ethylene Glycol and aerogel production. Future development goals: Continue to deepen strategic cooperation with Yangmei Group; focus investment promotion on new coal chemical industries, fine chemicals, and chemical materials; and, in accordance with the requirements for base-oriented, large-scale, integrated, and scaled development, introduce new coal chemical industries—based on coal-to-ethylene glycol and aerogel nanomaterials—as well as their upstream and downstream extensions.
