The Lingang New Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone consists of two parts: the Core Development Zone and the Strategic Coordination Zone. The Core Development Zone falls under the economic jurisdiction of the Lingang New Area Administrative Committee and covers an area of 386 square kilometers (including the Pilot Launch Zone); the Strategic Coordination Zone primarily refers to the Fengxian, Pudong, and Minhang areas within the rest of the New Area, covering approximately 456 square kilometers.In accordance with the principle of “overall planning and phased implementation,” the initial launch will cover areas such as Nanhui New City, the Lingang Equipment Industry Zone, Xiaoyangshan Island, and the area south of Pudong International Airport, with a total area of 119.5 square kilometers.
