On September 21, investment promotion leaders from Longwen District, Zhangzhou City, led a group of key investment promotion officials on a practical training and study tour organized in collaboration with GuChuan United. More than 20 participants attended the event, including members of the District Party Committee Standing Committee, leaders from various subdistricts, and investment promotion staff.

The four-day training program was conducted by the GuChuan Training School, a subsidiary of GuChuan United, using a "theoretical instruction + field study" approach to provide participants with a practical and substantive investment promotion training experience.

Based on the specific needs expressed by Longwen District’s investment promotion staff, GuChuan United tailored the curriculum to: reinforce foundational knowledge and innovate investment promotion strategies and methods; understand the current state of “headquarters economy and building economy,” identify challenges, and identify development trends; and conduct an on-site study tour in Jiangsu Province.

Combining Learning with Practice to Ensure Practical Results

“What motivates a company to choose a location? What drives a company to relocate or expand?”

“How can we extract investment promotion-related information and identify trends from a news article?”

As these questions were posed, the instructor guided participants to observe details within universal phenomena and summarize underlying patterns.

The course content primarily focused on practical aspects of investment promotion in the new economy, innovative investment promotion methods and real-world case studies, investment promotion strategies for headquarters and building-based economies, and analyses of typical cases such as Shanghai Pudong’s “100-million-yuan buildings.” Moving from fundamentals to innovation and from abstract concepts to concrete examples, the curriculum was clearly structured and progressive, directly addressing existing pain points in investment promotion.

In addition to the instructor’s lectures, a brainstorming session was organized to address the question of “how to evaluate and screen projects.” The session also included a simulated scenario of communicating with potential investors to help participants identify and resolve issues.

The training adopted a “learning + practice” approach, ensuring not only the effective acquisition of professional knowledge but also the rapid identification of pitfalls and blind spots in the investment promotion process, thereby helping investment promotion officials improve the quality and efficiency of their future work.

One must both read extensively and travel widely

Over the course of these four days, the training group visited the Changzhou Yuexing Global Port Commercial Center, Zhenjiang New District, and Suzhou Industrial Park.

Project leaders from each park extended a warm welcome to the training group and shared detailed insights on the operation of investment promotion platforms and the promotion of industrial innovation clusters. Additionally, Gu Chuan invited leaders from the Economic and Technological Development Zone to share Hefei’s investment promotion model with the delegation.

How did Jiangnan Global Port evolve from a commercial complex into a national 4A-level tourist attraction? And how did Zhenjiang New District manage to attract over $10 billion in foreign investment within a decade? Through this study tour, participants engaged in immersive learning and held in-depth exchanges with local officials, ultimately finding the answers.

During the visits, the investment promotion officials benchmarked against advanced practices and identified areas for improvement, gaining a clearer direction for their investment promotion work in the next phase.

The participants gained significant insights from this training and also came to realize that investment promotion cannot be a one-size-fits-all approach; different regions and different stages of industrial development require tailored investment promotion systems.

For investment promotion training, delivering tangible results is of the utmost importance.

With 14 years of deep expertise in the investment promotion field, GuChuan United has dedicated itself to distilling practical experience from real-world operations. The company established China’s first training institution with official accreditation for investment promotion education—the GuChuan Training School. To date, it has trained nearly 100 practical investment promotion instructors and developed hundreds of specialized courses.

Building a platform for learning and exchange within specialized fields, broadening channels for knowledge acquisition, and breaking down information barriers embody GuChuan United’s service philosophy: “Thinking for businesses, serving businesses, and acting for businesses.”

Moving forward, Guchuan United will continue to refine its expertise in investment promotion, providing comprehensive support and assistance to more partners working on the front lines of investment promotion, and jointly contributing to regional economic development!
