The Laiwu Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level economic development zone established with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government. Located in the eastern part of downtown Laiwu, it covers a total area of 12.5 square kilometers. The zone is bordered by the Yonghu Expressway to the south and the Jiquing Expressway to the north, with the Beijing-Shanghai Railway running along its western edge. The Xindian-Tai’an Railway traverses the zone from east to west, and it is situated 80 kilometers from Jinan International Airport, offering excellent transportation access.
Adjacent to the city center, the Laiwu Economic Development Zone is divided into five districts: East, West, South, North, and Central. Within the zone, there are commercial and residential areas, office zones, high-tech parks, private technology parks, and foreign-invested startup parks. The zone has implemented the "seven utilities and one leveling, all-in-one" standard.The Development Zone has been planned and constructed to high standards and with a high-level vision. It has established a development focus on high-tech industries such as electronic information, biotechnology, new materials, mechatronics, fine chemicals, and light textiles. The zone emphasizes technological innovation, strengthens brand development, adheres to international practices, and implements modern management. At the same time, it leverages regional advantages to promote the deep processing of agricultural by-products and the development of specialty agriculture.
