The Weifang Comprehensive Bonded Zone was approved for establishment by the State Council in January 2011. It covers a total area of 13.68 square kilometers, comprising a 3.84-square-kilometer supervised zone within the perimeter and a 9.84-square-kilometer supporting zone outside the perimeter. It operates as a “single zone with two sections,” consisting of the South Zone and the North Zone.The South Zone covers an area of 4.1 square kilometers and is located in the eastern part of the city’s central urban area; the North Zone covers an area of 9.58 square kilometers and is adjacent to Weifang Port, a national Class I open port, serving the development and opening-up of the northern coastal region.
