Park Overview
The Haiyang Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level development zone established in 1992 with the approval of the provincial government. It borders the old urban area of Haiyang to the north and the tourist resort and Golden Coast to the south. The Qingdao-Weihai Expressway and the Yantai-Fengtai First-Class Highway intersect within the zone, which encompasses 13 administrative villages and has a permanent population of 20,000.Planning and construction of the Haiyang Industrial Park began in late 2000. Guided by the development philosophy of “Economic New District, Urban New District, Tourism New District, and Ecological New District,” the project adheres to the principles of “high-standard planning, high-quality construction, efficient management, and high-quality services,” integrating modern urban concepts, tourism-oriented thinking, and ecological awareness into the park’s development.To date, infrastructure investment in the Haiyang Industrial Park has exceeded 200 million yuan, with supporting facilities for water supply and drainage, electricity, telecommunications, cable TV, low-voltage utility networks, heating, and steam supply fully completed. Adhering to the standard of “one tree per road, one scenic view per road,” the park has made every effort to create highlights in greening, beautification, and lighting, resulting in the construction of Fengze Garden Park and Chuncheng Square.Currently, the park is home to 278 enterprises with a total contracted investment exceeding 12 billion yuan, having initially formed an industrial cluster centered on electronics and electrical appliances, machinery processing, new materials, biopharmaceuticals, hardware manufacturing, and textiles and apparel.In 2006, the zone achieved sales revenue of 8.5 billion yuan and tax revenue of 300 million yuan. Its comprehensive performance indicators ranked among the top 30 out of 155 development zones in the province, and it was awarded the “Shandong Provincial Development Zone Progress Award” for two consecutive years in 2005 and 2006.
