Park Overview
The Weifang Binhai Chemical Industry Park is one of Shandong’s first chemical industrial parks and the largest in northern China. The park has a planned area of 71.53 square kilometers (with 35 square kilometers already developed). The land within the park is laid out in contiguous, square plots and is offered at competitive prices, capable of accommodating large-scale projects covering more than 5,000 mu each, with levels of green and intensive development continuously improving.Weifang Binhai is China’s largest production base for bromine and sea salt, with static underground brine reserves of 6 billion cubic meters.
The park is prioritizing the development of three 100-billion-yuan industrial clusters—petrochemical new materials, biopharmaceuticals, and marine chemicals—as well as two 50-billion-yuan industrial clusters—ecological plant protection and high-end equipment. There are currently 114 large and medium-sized chemical enterprises, including 27 provincial and municipal “Specialized, Refined, Distinctive, and Innovative” chemical enterprises, producing over 1,200 products. Nearly 40 products—including raspberry ketone, apigenin, vitamin A, vitamin E, methionine, betaine, synthetic alkali, and bromine-based flame retardants—rank first in global production.
The “Five Niu Alliance,” led by Xinhecheng, is focused on building 100-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters in new pharmaceuticals and new materials. The petrochemical new materials industry, with Hongrun Petrochemical and Binhai Luqing as its supply chain leaders, has established a petroleum storage and transportation capacity of 60 million cubic meters and a crude oil processing capacity of 5 million metric tons. The salt chemical industry, led by Shandong Haihua and Haiwang Chemical, has achieved transformation, upgrading, and improvements in quality and efficiency. The ecological plant protection industry, spearheaded by several listed companies including Runfeng, Luba, Zhongnong, Xianda, and Hailier, holds a significant position in the domestic and international pesticide sectors.
