The Jinan Supercomputing Center Science and Technology Park is located on Jingshi East Road in Caishi Town, Licheng District, Jinan City, Shandong Province, across from the East Campus of the Shandong Academy of Sciences. Construction began in late 2018. The park covers an area of 328 mu, with a total floor area of 615,000 square meters and a total investment of 10.5 billion yuan. After 108 days of intensive construction, the main structure of the first phase of the science and technology park, covering 210,000 square meters, has been completed.On May 9, 2019, the Jinan Supercomputing Science and Technology Park—the world’s first supercomputing science and technology park—was officially inaugurated.
Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, this park is one of the national exascale supercomputing centers. It is widely recognized as the “next crown jewel of the supercomputing world” and the “superbrain.” Once completed, the exascale supercomputer will boast a processing speed of one hundred billion billion operations per second, outperforming the world’s current fastest supercomputer by a factor of eight and ranking first globally in computing power.
As of May 2024, the Jinan Supercomputing Center Science and Technology Park has attracted tenants including the National Supercomputing Center in Jinan, the Quancheng Provincial Laboratory, and the Northern Headquarters of Hikvision. In the future, the park is expected to host 40 to 50 science and technology innovation enterprises, as well as a large number of research institutes and scientists. This is projected to foster a supercomputing application services industry with an annual output value of tens of billions of yuan, while also driving a high-tech industry with an estimated output value of approximately 30 billion yuan.
