Park Overview
The Tai'an National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tai'an Economic Development Zone) is located at the foot of Mount Tai, a site renowned both domestically and internationally. Established in 1994, it was approved as a provincial-level high-tech zone by the People's Government of Shandong Province in 1995 and designated as a national high-tech zone by the State Council in August 2012. It serves as a model zone for scientific development and an advanced zone for opening up in Shandong Province, and is an integral part and a sub-center of Tai'an's modern garden city.
The Tai'an High-Tech Zone encompasses the developed area in the eastern part of Tai'an City and the new district in the south, with a total jurisdiction of 118 square kilometers. The new district enjoys a uniquely advantageous location and transportation network: it borders Jinan, the "City of Springs," to the north and Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, to the south. The Beijing-Shanghai Railway and the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway run north-south through the area, while the Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Fuzhou Expressways intersect here, and National Highway 104 passes through the zone. The zone has achieved the “Seven Utilities and One Leveling” infrastructure—including roads, water supply, electricity, heating, natural gas, sewage disposal, and telecommunications—and has constructed a backbone road network of over 100 kilometers comprising “six north-south and seven east-west” routes, with various supporting utility lines laid in tandem. With infrastructure continuously improving, the district has gradually developed into a modern industrial new town characterized by a relatively developed industrial economy, a well-balanced industrial structure, growing economic strength, efficient management and operations, comprehensive facilities, a beautiful ecological environment, and an ideal setting for both business and residential living.
Development plans include initiatives in scientific and technological innovation, as well as industrial parks for electronics and information technology, new materials, mining equipment, food and pharmaceuticals, and power transmission and transformation equipment.
