Established in December 2006, the Liaoning Wunvshan Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level development zone. With a planned area of 40 square kilometers, the zone focuses on the life sciences and health industry, prioritizing the development of traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing, health foods, ice wine, and wellness tourism. As of August 2022, the zone was home to 76 enterprises, with an annual output value reaching 3 billion yuan.
The development zone has been awarded more than 10 honors, including National Demonstration Zone for the Creation of Well-Known Brands in the Ice Wine Industry, National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, one of the first national model parks for the “One Park, One Industry” initiative in agricultural product processing, and one of the first provincial-level agricultural science and technology parks.
