The Dandong Donggang Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level development zone established on October 27, 1994, with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government. In May 2006, it was designated by the Liaoning Provincial Government as a key development area within the “Five Points and One Line” strategy of the Liaoning Coastal Economic Belt, with a planned area of 68 square kilometers.Located in eastern China at the confluence of the Yalu River and the Yellow Sea, the zone faces the Korean Peninsula across the river and the sea, and is separated from the old city of Donggang by a single bridge. It possesses the unique geographical advantages of being situated along a river, the coast, and the border, and serves as China’s northernmost international trade and logistics port.
