Development Zone Introduction
The Xitong Science and Technology Industrial Park serves as a key platform through which the cities of Wuxi and Nantong jointly participate in coastal development and achieve cross-river synergy, in response to the two major national development strategies of Jiangsu Coastal Development and the Yangtze River Delta Regional Plan. The park has a total planned area of 24 square kilometers and is divided into northern and southern zones. The southern zone, located in Zhangzhishan Town, covers 20 square kilometers, while the northern zone is situated in Xianfeng Town.
The South Zone is organized according to the principles of a centralized core, two integrated rings, residential areas along the lines, isolated research zones, and industrial zones on both sides. It is divided into one urban core area, three main residential clusters, and five industrial zones, with a total planned population of 115,000. The core area is situated at the intersection of Rail Lines 1 and 4, forming a hub and developing the core area under the TOD model; The integration of the two rings leverages existing waterways to form two ecological water loops, fostering the development of green belts and creating a "blue-green integration" texture; residential areas are arranged around the central zone, extending along the rail lines to connect with the development zone and the Sutong residential area; R&D zones serve as a buffer between industrial and residential areas; industrial land utilizes transportation infrastructure and is situated on both sides of the site to minimize impact on the central zone and residential clusters.
