Park Overview
The Taizhou Economic Development Zone was established in 1992 and was approved as a provincial-level economic development zone by the Jiangsu Provincial Government in 1996. In March 2009, with the approval of the State Council, Taizhou established the National Taizhou Pharmaceutical High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. The Taizhou Economic Development Zone is currently one of the functional zones under the Taizhou Pharmaceutical High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, with a planned area of 31.4 square kilometers. As the primary hub for Taizhou’s opening-up, investment attraction, and economic development, the Taizhou Economic Development Zone has in recent years focused on building industries, fostering a favorable environment, and enhancing its functional capabilities. By attracting domestic and international capital and projects, the zone has seen its level of economic internationalization rise year after year, emerging as a new force driving the rapid rise of the Yangtze River Delta region.
Its well-developed supporting facilities have attracted major foreign investment projects such as Wistron, Juteng, and Catcher from Taiwan. The standard factory buildings and residential support areas of the Optoelectronics Industrial Park, built to complement the Export Processing Zone, have taken shape and can accommodate hundreds of supporting enterprises. Commercial facilities such as dining, entertainment, and leisure are gradually being improved, and schools and hospitals are strategically located. The zone is fully equipped with infrastructure such as sewage treatment and combined heat and power (CHP) systems.
