Development Zone Introduction
Established in May 2008, the Dantu High-Tech Industrial Park is a key initiative of the Dantu District Party Committee and District Government aimed at building an industrial hub and driving industrial upgrading. It also serves as a vital base for the district to transform its economic development model and achieve explosive growth in emerging industries.
The High-Tech Industrial Park is situated on the eastern side of Dantu New City, with its boundaries extending east to Xinfeng Town, south to South Ring Road, west to National Highway 312, and north to Dingmao South 7th Road. It covers a total area of approximately 22 square kilometers, with an initial development area of 12 square kilometers.Situated in the Yangtze River Delta at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal, the park enjoys significant transportation advantages. National Highway 312, Provincial Highway 338, the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, the Yangzhou-Liyang Expressway, and the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway all traverse the area. Additionally, the Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Light Rail and the Huai-Zhen-Yang Railway (currently under construction) have stations within the park.
The High-Tech Park has established a comprehensive planning philosophy of “holistic development and broadening the framework,” along with a phased planning approach of “driving the whole from key points and implementing in stages.” Renowned high-tech park design and engineering consulting firms were specifically engaged for planning and design. Based on current international and domestic industrial development trends, five major industries—new energy, new materials, traditional Chinese medicine formulations and compound drugs, precision machinery, and software R&D—have been designated as the park’s leading sectors.
Since 2009, the Dantu section of Jing Shi Er Road (Lengyu Road)—the main north-south thoroughfare running through the park—has been fully opened to traffic.the eastward extension of Ruishan Road, and the 2.5-kilometer “one horizontal, two vertical” road network project were fully completed. Additionally, construction has commenced on the 7.12-kilometer “two horizontal, two vertical” road network project south of Provincial Highway 338, as well as the 5.2-kilometer eastward extension of Guyang Avenue.A range of supporting infrastructure, centered on the High-Tech Innovation Center and incubation facilities, has been progressively put in place. A number of major projects and foreign-invested enterprises, including the Zhongjing Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park, the Dantu Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Beijing National Science and Technology Transfer Center, Jiangsu Yihaixin, Jiangsu Lanjian Electronics, and Zhenjiang Jubo Electronics, have successively settled in the park.
