Park Overview
Wujin High-Tech Zone was established in March 1996 as the province’s first provincial-level high-tech zone, following approval by the People’s Government of Jiangsu Province; in August 2012, it was upgraded to a national-level high-tech zone with the approval of the State Council. Currently, its administrative area covers 81 square kilometers, with a planned control area of 182 square kilometers and a total population exceeding 240,000.
After nearly 30 years of development, Wujin National High-Tech Zone has established a dynamic momentum characterized by the parallel advancement of its four leading industries—high-end equipment, electronic information, new transportation, and green energy—with its “One Car, One Person, One Chip” industrial brand becoming increasingly prominent. To date, the park has attracted more than 15,000 enterprises of various types, including over 900 enterprises above designated size, more than 400 foreign-invested enterprises, 29 investment projects by Fortune Global 500 companies, 15 companies listed on the main board, and 22 companies listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ).In 2024, the region’s GDP grew by 9.4% year-on-year; the total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size reached 241.6 billion yuan, up 13.9% year-on-year; general public budget revenue amounted to 5.47 billion yuan, a 7.5% increase year-on-year, with a tax-to-revenue ratio of 95.2%; and the park ranked 39th in the latest comprehensive ranking of national high-tech zones released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Looking ahead to the new year,Wujin National High-Tech Zone will adhere to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guiding principle, fully implement the decisions and deployments of the central, provincial, municipal, and district governments, firmly grasp high-quality development as its primary task, accurately understand the District Party Committee’s positioning for the zone’s development, and firmly establish a clear orientation of “cherishing hard work and striving for excellence.” It will serve as a pioneer in addressing the “Wujin Challenge,” act as a leading force in promoting Wujin’s high-quality development, and make every effort to bring the 14th Five-Year Plan to a successful conclusion.
