Established in 2001, the Gaochun Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu is a provincial-level development zone with a total planned area of 42.25 square kilometers and a planned construction area of 29.5 square kilometers. Located in the southern Jiangsu region of the Yangtze River Delta, it sits on the eastern outskirts of Gaochun County, Nanjing. The area boasts an extensive road network, with the Nanjing-Gaochun Expressway, Wuhu-Tai'an Expressway, Nanjing-Xuanwu Expressway, Gaochun-Wangjiang Road, and Wuhu-Tai'an Road all passing through the zone;By water, the zone connects westward to the Yangtze River’s “golden waterway” and eastward to the Taihu Lake water network; the Wushen Canal, which runs through Gaochun, is a Grade III navigable waterway. The Nanjing-Hangzhou Intercity Railway and the Ring-City Light Rail have been approved, ensuring convenient transportation and efficient logistics.
In terms of industrial economy, the Jiangsu Gaochun Economic Development Zone has established leading industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, healthcare, modern services, energy conservation and environmental protection, and green food. It is home to several locally listed companies, including the Red Sun Group (ranked among China’s Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises), Gaochun Ceramics, and Hongbaoli Company.
