The Jiangsu Dafeng Port Economic Development Zone is a provincial-level economic development zone and the sole port-adjacent industrial support area for the China-Korea (Yancheng) Industrial Park, with a planned construction area of 208 square kilometers. In 2021, in accordance with the requirements of the provincial, municipal, and district Party committees to “face the sea, develop toward the sea, and empower the future,” the port area prioritized the marine economy and fully integrated into the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
The Dafeng Port Economic Development Zone focuses on developing emerging industries such as new energy equipment, a digital automotive hub, and deep processing of imported food, while upgrading traditional industries including forestry products, special steel, and petrochemical new materials. It currently has 77 industrial enterprises above designated size that submit regular reports, including two enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan. The zone has established 26 provincial-level or higher technical centers. Among its enterprise innovation platforms, 15 have been approved as National High-Tech Enterprises, and the zone hosts 53 technical centers, 1 academician workstation, and 7 postdoctoral workstations.
