Park Overview
The Taixing Economic Development Zone covers a total planned area of 68 square kilometers, with a developed core area of 20 square kilometers. It focuses on developing industries such as daily chemicals, new chemical materials, plastics, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), while accelerating the development of modern service industries—including port logistics—and supporting administrative and business infrastructure. As one of the most dynamic development zones in the Yangtze River Delta region, the Economic Development Zone holds boundless promise for transformative development and harbors immense potential for rapid progress. The zone has preliminarily formed industrial clusters with well-defined industrial chains, including new chemical materials, new energy, biopharmaceuticals, oil and fat food processing, and high-end equipment (marine and ship engineering) manufacturing, presenting a development pattern characterized by “the aggregation of large-scale enterprises, the concentration of competitive products, and the clustering of leading industries.” Currently, the core area is home to over 100 enterprises from more than 20 countries and regions, including 14 Fortune Global 500 companies. The zone is home to industrial clusters of new chemical materials, including the world’s largest production base for chloroacetic acid and phthalocyanine pigments, the Asia-Pacific region’s largest production base for polyacrylamide, China’s largest production base for high-quality chloroacetic acid using the continuous process, and East China’s largest production base for ethylene oxide and its derivatives. Among these, the new materials industry based on chlor-alkali stands out as the most distinctive among similar industrial parks nationwide.
