Park Overview
The Suqian High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, formerly known as the Jiangsu Suyu Economic Development Zone, was established in March 2001. In May 2006, it was approved by the provincial government as a provincial-level economic development zone. In August of the same year, the Ministry of Land and Resources approved its area as 5 square kilometers. On November 30, 2012, it was approved by the provincial government to be established as the Jiangsu Suqian High-Tech Industrial Development Zone.On February 21, 2017, it was upgraded to a national-level high-tech industrial development zone following approval by the State Council. The master plan covers a total area of 100 square kilometers, with an initial development area of 50 square kilometers. The built-up area currently spans 30 square kilometers. The zone administers one town and ten villages and residential communities, with a resident population of 32,000 and an employed population of 39,400.In 2010, it was approved by Jiangsu Province as a provincial-level new materials industrial park and a recycled resources processing industrial park. In the same year, it was approved as a provincial-level photovoltaic new materials specialty industrial park and obtained ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification. In 2012, it was approved as a provincial-level intellectual property pilot park, and in the same year, it received approval to establish a provincial-level ecological industrial park.The High-Tech Zone is now home to more than 450 enterprises of various types and has preliminarily established five major leading industries: new energy, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, food processing, and e-commerce.
