Park Overview
The Changzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone is located at the eastern gateway of Changzhou, serving as a key strategic hub at the intersection of the Shanghai-Nanjing Innovation Corridor and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Covering a total area of 181.28 square kilometers, it has a registered population of approximately 234,900 and a resident population of approximately 395,100. The zone comprises 3 towns and 3 subdistricts, which in turn oversee 60 administrative villages and 21 communities.Within the zone, a dense road network serves as its lifeline: the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway and the Changzhou-Hefei Expressway crisscross the area, while the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, the Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway, and the Yangtze River Intercity Railway have already established or are set to establish stations here. Waterways such as the Grand Canal and the Xingou River connect the area to Lake Tai and the Yangtze River.
As a key component of Changzhou’s comprehensive reform for industry-city integration and administrative restructuring, the Changzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government merged the former Qishuyan District and Wujin District, establishing the Jiangsu Changzhou Economic Development Zone in the eastern part of the new Wujin District to create a new landmark for the city’s development. This young economic development zone aims to become a pioneer in institutional and mechanism innovation, a hub for high-tech industries, a model for ecological civilization, and a showcase for industry-city integration.
