Park Overview
The Xiangyang Economic and Technological Development Zone is a national-level development zone established with the approval of the State Council and officially inaugurated on September 26, 2010. It administers two sub-zones—Dongjin and Liuji—with a total controlled area of 308 square kilometers and a policy zone area of 14.7 square kilometers. The Development Zone is located in the northeastern part of Xiangyang City. It is home to Xiangyang Liuji Airport and Xiangyang East Railway Station, with expressway entrances situated 5 kilometers to the east and west, respectively. The Xiangyang Economic and Technological Development Zone uses the previously developed Shenzhen Industrial Park as its initial development area, with the Dongjin and Liuji administered zones serving as the foundation for future growth. The zone is primarily planned to focus on five major industries: equipment manufacturing, electronics and electrical engineering, environmental protection and energy conservation, mechanical processing, and footwear and apparel.Construction of the first phase (8.5 square kilometers) of the Shenzhen Industrial Park, which was developed in the initial stage, is nearing completion, and the second phase has been fully launched. Originally planned to be built in two phases over 3–5 years, the first phase of the Shenzhen Industrial Park (30 square kilometers) has achieved nearly full occupancy within just two years.
