The Liuzhou Hexi High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is located in the western part of downtown Liuzhou. Officially established in 2008, it comprises the former Hexi Industrial Zones 1, 2, 3, and 4, as well as the two major original equipment manufacturers—SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. and Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd.—and their surrounding production and service-related land, with a total planned area of 20.24 km².
In 2008, with the approval of the People’s Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Hexi High-Tech Zone was designated as an autonomous-region-level Class A industrial park;In March 2013, it became the core park of the “Equipment Manufacturing (Construction Machinery) · Liunan District, Liuzhou, Guangxi” demonstration base—the fourth batch of National New Industrialization Demonstration Bases designated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; in October 2015, it was recognized as an autonomous region-level high-tech industrial development zone by the Department of Science and Technology of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The Hexi High-Tech Zone is located in the southwestern part of Liuzhou City, bordering the Xiang-Guang Railway to the north, Liugong Avenue to the east, the Liunan Marshalling Yard to the south, and Wenbi Peak to the west. The total planned area is 20.24 square kilometers, of which 19.95 square kilometers is net construction land.
