Dongguan City, abbreviated as "Dongguan", is a prefecture-level city and mega-city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, and the central city on the east coast of the Pearl River Delta as approved by the State Council. Located in South China, south-central Guangdong Province, on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary, bordered by Guangzhou City in the northwest, Shenzhen City in the south, and Huizhou City in the northeast, Dongguan has a subtropical monsoon climate with long summers, no winters, and abundant rainfall. As of October 2022, Dongguan City has 4 streets and 28 towns under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 2,542.67 square kilometers. In 2023, Dongguan's GDP amounted to 1,143.813 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. Among them, the added value of the primary industry amounted to 3.625 billion yuan, up 5.0% year-on-year; the added value of the secondary industry amounted to 647.818 billion yuan, up 1.4% year-on-year; and the added value of the tertiary industry amounted to 492.371 billion yuan, up 4.1% year-on-year.
