Yanping District, belongs to Nanping City, Fujian Province. It is located in the central north of Fujian Province, between latitude 26°15'~26°52'N and longitude 117°50'~118°40'E. It has a mid-subtropical oceanic monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and abundant rainfall all year round, covering a total area of 2,652.84 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Yanping District has 6 streets, 13 towns, and 2 townships under its jurisdiction, with the district government stationed at No. 461, Binjiang Middle Road, Ziyun Street. As of the end of 2022, Yanping District had a resident population of 448,000 people. Yanping District has a history of more than 1800 years, the Eastern Han Dynasty Jian'an first year (196 years) was built, then called Nanping, meaning "southern border pacification", historically known as Yanping, Jianjin, Jianpu, etc. In September 1994, the abolition of the Nanping area to establish prefecture-level Nanping City, county-level Nanping City to Yanping District.
