Wuping County, part of Longyan City, Fujian Province, covers an area of 2,630 square kilometers and has 17 townships (streets) under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Wuping County was 275,000 people. Founded in the fifth year of Chunhua of the Northern Song Dynasty (994), Wuping is a pure Hakka county and an important part of the Hakka stronghold between Fujian, Guangdong and Gan provinces. The county is served by two outbound highways from Sanming Yong'an to Wuping and Zhangzhou Gulei Harbor to Wuping and the Longyan-Longchuan high-speed railroad under construction. Wuping County is a former old revolutionary area county and a central Soviet area county. The county has given birth to one general (Liu Yalou) and four major generals. Wuping County is the birthplace of the reform of the collective forest right system led by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and is known as the "First County of National Forestry Reform". Wuping County has a forest coverage rate of 79.7%, with Liangnoshan National Nature Reserve, Liangnoshan National Forest Trail, Zhongshan River National Wetland Park, National Garden County, National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration County, National Greening Model County, the first "Chinese Natural Oxygen Bar" in Fujian Province, National Forest Tourism Demonstration County, and the first batch of National All-Region Tourism Demonstration Zones. It is the first "Chinese Natural Oxygen Bar" in Fujian Province, the National Forest Tourism Demonstration County, the first batch of National Regional Tourism Demonstration Areas, and the National Forest Recreation Base. Wuping County has been awarded the sixth national civilized city for the second consecutive time. It has been listed as a national pilot county for the construction of county-level integrated media center and a national pilot county for the civilized practice center in the new era by the Central Propaganda Department. It was honored by the Central Comprehensive Governance Commission as an advanced county in national peace building. It was awarded as a national health county by the National Sanitation Committee. 2023 In October, it was awarded as the third batch of national agricultural product quality safety county. In 2022, the gross regional product of Wuping County realized 30.673 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6%.
