Park Overview
Established in 2006, the Chongqing Nanchuan Industrial Park is a specialized industrial park in Chongqing. In 2016, the municipal government approved the inclusion of the Daguan Cluster into the expansion area of the Nanchuan Industrial Park, formally establishing a spatial layout comprising “one zone and four clusters”: Longyan, Shuijiang, Nanping, and Daguan.Currently, there are 329 industrial enterprises operating within the park, including 114 enterprises above designated size. Among these, 50 have an output value exceeding 100 million yuan, and 5 exceed 1 billion yuan. In accordance with the unified deployment of the District Party Committee and District Government, the park will serve as the platform for the full-scale creation of a municipal-level high-tech industrial development zone, with the goal of subsequently upgrading to a national-level high-tech industrial development zone.
The Nanchuan Industrial Park has a long-term planning area of 66 square kilometers, a medium-term planning area of 39.62 square kilometers, and a near-term planning area of 18.5753 square kilometers. Specifically, the Longyan Cluster covers 4.6983 square kilometers; the Shuijiang Cluster covers 6.2797 square kilometers; the Nanping Cluster covers 5.4427 square kilometers; and the Daguan Cluster covers 2.1546 square kilometers.
The industrial park adheres to a clear orientation of “prioritizing industry and focusing on manufacturing,” striving to build a base for advanced manufacturing. Following a “one park, four clusters” layout (namely the Longyan, Shuijiang, Nanping, and Daguan clusters), it centers on the “332” manufacturing cluster system to cultivate leading industrial clusters such as smart connected new energy vehicles and supporting industries, fine chemicals, and modern traditional Chinese medicine. The Longyan Cluster serves as a municipal-level specialty industrial park for smart and connected new energy vehicles and the primary hub of the High-Speed Rail New City, functioning as a hub for high-tech industries and innovation resources. It focuses on building a “10-billion-yuan industrial cluster for new energy vehicle supporting industries,” prioritizing the development of supporting components for smart and connected new energy vehicles, new energy and novel energy storage, cultural and creative industries, low-altitude economy industries, and smart technology industries. The Shuijiang Cluster is one of Chongqing’s eight major chemical industrial parks. It focuses on building a “10-billion-yuan clean energy industrial cluster,” prioritizing the development of fine chemicals (primarily coatings and chemical raw materials), new materials (primarily ultra-fine metal powders and rare/precious metals), and new energy (primarily biomass energy), while vigorously fostering sectors such as the comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries and bulk solid waste. The Nanping Cluster is a demonstration industrial park for prefabricated construction, focused on building a “10-billion-yuan green building materials industrial cluster.” It prioritizes the development of industries such as precast concrete (PC) components, steel structural components, smart home systems, aluminum decorative panels, and fasteners, while actively attracting high-end machinery manufacturing projects to expand the scale of the green prefabricated construction demonstration base. The Daguan Cluster is the city’s sole Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Science and Technology Industrial Park and a National Pilot Zone for the Inheritance, Innovation, and Development of TCM. It prioritizes the development of industries such as TCM (including TCM decoction pieces, proprietary Chinese medicines, TCM formula granules, hospital-prepared formulations, and food-medicine homogeny products), biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, health foods, and special-use cosmetics.
