The Wanjiang-Jiangnan Emerging Industries Concentration Zone is a provincial-level concentration zone established in June 2010 by the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government in accordance with the “Plan for the Wanjiang Urban Belt Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zone” approved by the State Council. On April 15, 2020, the Anhui Jiangnan Industrial Concentration Zone was officially renamed the Wanjiang-Jiangnan Emerging Industries Concentration Zone.
Located in Gui’chi District, Chizhou City, the zone is bordered by the Yangtze River to the north, backed by Mount Jiuhua to the south, adjacent to Tongling City to the east, and connected to downtown Chizhou to the west. It has a planned area of 216 square kilometers, with initial development commencing in a 37-square-kilometer pilot zone. As of June 2020, the pilot zone had achieved “seven utilities and one leveling,” while 252 investment projects had been completed and put into operation, and 47 enterprises had met the criteria for inclusion in the statistical reporting system.
