Park Overview
In recent years, the Suzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has remained firmly focused on its goal of becoming a “National-Level Economic and Technological Development Zone.” Adhering to its “Four Zones” positioning—as a “pioneering zone for ideological liberation, a demonstration zone for distinctive industries, a hub for high-quality resources, and a new urban area for a happy life”—the zone has seen its infrastructure gradually improve, its leading industries and overall economic output grow steadily, and its social undertakings develop significantly.
Since its establishment, the Suzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has vigorously promoted the construction of infrastructure and comprehensive supporting service facilities, continuously improving the zone’s supporting functions. In accordance with the overarching requirement of integrating industry and urban development, the zone’s planning system has gradually been refined, with the coordinated development of the “three plans”: the Main Functional Area Plan, the General Land Use Plan, and the General Urban Plan. The park’s infrastructure is becoming increasingly comprehensive. Over the past five years, nearly 6 billion yuan has been invested in infrastructure construction. Within the 32-square-kilometer built-up area, 42 roads totaling 86.92 kilometers have been completed, achieving near-complete coverage of the transportation network. The park currently has two 220-kilovolt substations and three 110-kilovolt substations; one sewage treatment plant with a daily capacity of 100,000 tons and one water treatment plant with a daily capacity of 50,000 tons;two gas companies capable of supplying 110,000 cubic meters of gas per day, and one heating company with a capacity of 110 tons per hour; 72,500 square meters of standardized factory buildings have been constructed within the zone; 216,300 square meters of resettlement housing and 9,440 square meters of low-rent housing have been completed, with 165,000 square meters of public rental housing and 86,000 square meters of employee dormitories currently under construction, and approximately 1.2 million square meters of commercial housing already completed; The total green space in the district reaches 2 million square meters, with 13 parks and plazas already built; the district currently has 3 middle schools, 7 elementary schools, 12 kindergartens, and 1 Grade II-A hospital; there are 7 bus routes and 6 financial service outlets; 7 specialized markets have been established, along with over 80 commercial and catering businesses; the Suzhou International Hotel is now in operation.
