Class 1 Industrial Land: M1. This category causes minimal disturbance or pollution to residential and public environments and poses no safety hazards. It is often the preferred choice for owners of labor-intensive enterprises and is suitable for companies primarily engaged in R&D and pilot production, as well as those with manufacturing operations. M1 sites are generally well-located with convenient transportation and comprehensive supporting facilities. The electronics industry and service sector, which we are all familiar with, are well-suited for development on M1 land;
Class II Industrial Land: M2 refers to industrial land that causes some disturbance and pollution to residential and public environments. M2 is primarily intended for manufacturing enterprises and is concentrated within specially planned industrial parks, such as those for food, pharmaceutical, and textile manufacturing. M2 industrial land is generally located in suburban areas, where transportation and recreational amenities may be limited.
Class III Industrial Land: M3 refers to industrial land that causes significant disturbance and pollution to residential and public facilities. Enterprises in sectors such as metallurgy and chemical manufacturing require M3 land. Compared to M1 and M2, M3 land is relatively scarce and is typically located in more remote areas.
With the transformation and upgrading of industries, some localities have designated M0 land for new industrial uses. M0 primarily integrates functions for innovative industries such as R&D, creativity, design, pilot production, and pollution-free manufacturing. It mainly serves emerging high-tech enterprises and can accommodate light manufacturing.
