Wadu Township, belonging to Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, is located in the eastern part of Longyang District, on the west bank of the Lancang River at the end of the Nujiang Mountain Range, east of Yongping County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, across the river, south of Propma Township, west of Hetu Street and Hanzhuang Township, north of Shuizhai Township and Jinji Township, with an administrative area of 233.79 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, the registered population of Wadu Township is 24,542.
During the Ming Dynasty, it was Dongli; in 1971, it was merged into Wadu Commune; in 1988, the district was abolished to become Wadu Township. As of June 2020, Wadu Township has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is based in Wadu Village.
