Dongli District, belonging to Tianjin City, is located in the central east of Tianjin, with a total area of 477.34 square kilometers, of which 225 square kilometers are included in the Binhai New Area. Its economic functions are incorporated into Binhai, and social affairs remain under the administration of Dongli District. As of June 2023, Dongli District has 11 streets under its jurisdiction.In 2022, Dongli District had a total resident population of 838,900 people and a household population of 457,500 people. In the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period, it was under the jurisdiction of the state of Yan.
