Zhongtang Town, belonging to Tianjin Binhai New Area, is located in the western part of Binhai New Area, east of Dagang urban area, south of the petrochemical base, west of Jinghai District, north of Jinnan District, Xiqing District 2 districts, with a total area of 94.14 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Zhongtang Town has a household population of 47,564. In 1962, the territory of the current Zhongtang Township was under the jurisdiction of Xixiaozhan, South Suburb District; in 1992, it was changed from Zhongtang Township to Zhongtang Township. As of June 2020, Zhongtang Township has 1 community and 24 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2019, Zhongtang Town has 594 industrial enterprises, including 67 above scale, and 91 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area over 50 square meters.
