Sanshing Town was formed in December 2000 by the merger of Haiqiao Township and the former Sanshing Township. Located in the western part of Chongming, bordering the Yangtze River in the south, neighboring Xinhai Farm and Hongxing Farm in the north, Miao Town in the east and Green China in the west. Township government seat Caobang Township, 17.5 kilometers from the county town. The total area of the town is 6817 hectares, with 4528 hectares of arable land. The industry of Sanshing Town is dominated by processing industry, especially by light textile processing industry as the main body. 3030 hectares of agricultural products in Sanshing Town (rice, vegetables, oranges) were listed as the first batch of pollution-free agricultural products in Shanghai in November, 2003, which were recognized as the origin of pollution-free agricultural products.
