Lushan City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, is administered by Weihai City. It is located in the hinterland of Qingdao, Weihai and Yantai; bordering the Yellow Sea in the south, it is separated from South Korea and Japan by the sea. It lies between 36°41′-37°08′ north latitude and 121°11′-121°51′ east longitude, with a horizontal width of 60 km from east to west and a vertical length of 48 km from north to south, a total area of 1,665 square kilometers, and a coastline of 199.27 km. As of October 2022, Lushan City has 1 street and 14 towns under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2021, the total household population of Lushan City was 531,804,000 people. Lushan City, named after Da Lushan Mountain, is a hometown of longevity along the coast of China, and has been awarded the title of "Hometown of Longevity in Shandong Province". There are 3 provincial key cultural relics protection units and 13 municipal and county key cultural relics protection units in Lushan. It is the place where the writer Feng Deying's novels "Bitter Vegetable Flower", "Spring Flower" and "Mountain Chrysanthemum" take place, and also the place where the national vanguard "Ten Warriors of Mashishan" heroics take place. In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Lushan City will be 32.183 billion yuan, divided into three industries, the added value of the primary industry will be 6.588 billion yuan, with an increase of 5.4%; the added value of the secondary industry will be 9.564 billion yuan, with an increase of 2.5%; and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 16.031 billion yuan, with an increase of 0.6%.
