Junan County, belonging to Linyi City, Shandong Province, is located in the southeast of Shandong Province at the junction of Lu and Suzhou, east of Linyi City, east of Lanshan District, Rizhao City, south of Ganyu District, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, west of Linyi City, Hedong District, and north of Juxian County, Rizhao City. The total area of Junan County is 1,752 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, the resident population of Junan County is 841,000 people.
In the Qin and Sui dynasties, Junan County was included in Luangya County with the State of Ju; in the Tang Dynasty, it was part of Ju County, Mizhou Prefecture, Henan Province; in the Ming Dynasty, it was part of Ju Prefecture, Qingzhou Prefecture; and in the Qing Dynasty, it was part of Ju Prefecture, Yizhou Prefecture. In January 1941, the anti-Japanese democratic government of Ju'nan County was established, and the county was named for the analysis of the southern part of Ju County. As of March 2021, there were 1 street and 15 towns under the jurisdiction of Junan County, totaling 266 administrative villages and 741 natural villages.
In 2023, Jounan County's GDP was 39.3 billion yuan, an increase of 7.3% over the previous year at constant prices.
