Putrajaya is one of the three federal districts of Malaysia, and is the federal administrative center of Malaysia, formerly known as Putrajaya and Prince Edward City.
Putrajaya is located in the middle of the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, in the state of Selangor, close to the city of Kuala Lumpur. on February 1, 2001, Putrajaya was divided from Selangor to become the third Federal Territory of Malaysia.
Putrajaya is a symbol of a thriving ideal city, whose original Malay name means "putra" for prince and "jaya" for success or victory, both from Sanskrit. This "Smart Garden City" retains the essence of Malaysia's traditional heritage, with at least one-third of the city still preserved in nature's verdant landscapes, forested gardens, lakes and wetlands, making it one of the country's precious green treasures. The entire city is a vast area of rolling hills and magnificent forests, 70% of which is green space with red flowers and green foliage, providing a tranquil and pleasant environment. After nearly six years of planning and construction, is now quite a large-scale modern city, but also become one of Malaysia's newest tourist attractions. Malaysia's Prime Minister's Office and government ministries have moved into Putrajaya office, residential areas, commercial areas, cultural and leisure facilities and transportation systems have been basically supporting.
