Baoyan Town, belonging to Dantu District, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the southern part of Dantu District, bordering Yanling Town, Danyang City, in the east, Zhixi Town, Jintan City, in the south, Maoshan Town, Jurong City, in the west, and Shangdang Town, in the north, with an area of 40.92 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, Baoyan Town has a household population of 23,465.
In the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), it was Baoyan Town, the sixth district of Zhenjiang County; in May 1987, the township was abolished and reorganized as Baoyan Town; in November 2005, Rongbing Town was merged into Baoyan Town. As of June 2020, Baoyan Town has 6 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town's people's government is located on Zhenrong Road.
