Li County, belonging to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the central plains of Hebei Province, southeast of Baoding City, in the hinterland of the triangle of Beijing, Tianjin and Shi, and at the junction of the cities of Baoding, Cangzhou and Hengshui. The county is connected to Gaoyang County in the northeast, Suning County in the southeast, Raoyang County and Anping County in the due south, Bono County in the southwest and Qingyuan District in the northwest. The geographic coordinates lie between 115°28′ and 115°50' east longitude and 38°20'and 38°40' north latitude. It has a longitudinal distance of 36.5 kilometers from north to south and a transverse distance of 32 kilometers from east to west, with a total area of 650 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Li County has 11 towns and 2 townships under its jurisdiction, with the county government stationed at No. 15, Fanli East Road, Liwu Township.At the end of 2021, the resident population was 483,648 people.
In the first month of the eighth year of Ming Hongwu (1375), Lizhou was lowered to Li County.In 1958, Li County was merged into Gaoyang County.In 1962, Li County was separated from Gaoyang County.In 1994, Baoding Prefecture and the city were merged, and Li County belonged to Baoding City.
Li County is located in the central part of the North China Plain in the western tectonic zone of the Jizhong Depression in the Bohai Bay Basin, with the general topography being high in the southwest and low in the northeast. It is a semi-arid region in the warm temperate zone of the eastern monsoon area, with a continental monsoon climate characterized by four distinct seasons. The rivers in the area are all in the Daqing River system of the Haihe River Basin, and the Zaolong River runs through the whole area.
The Shuo Huang Railway, Jinshi Expressway, Quangang Expressway, Baocang Expressway, National Highway G337, G230 and G240, Provincial Highway S235 and S382 pass through the area, and there are historical relics such as Dasongtai, Baishi Ruins, Shadowsanlang Tomb, and Li Shugu Tomb.
In 2022, Li County's gross regional product finished at 13.87 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.7%.
