Yanghe Township, belonging to Zhuanglang County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the northern part of Zhuanglang County, connected to Tonghua Township in the east, Liangyi Township in the south, Liuliang Township in the south, Nanhu Township in the west, Yuebao Township in the north, and bordering with Lund County of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the northeast. The total area of the administrative region is 72.58 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2018, the household population of Yanghe Township was 13,952.
Yanghe Township was named after the township government stationed in Yangjiahe.In June 1961, Yanghe Commune in Jingning County was established by the analysis of four communes, namely Nanhu, Yuebao, Liangyi and Tongbian, and was stationed in Yangjiahe; in December of the same year, when Zhuanglang Administrative District was restored, it was Yanghe Commune in Zhuanglang County.In October 1964, Yanghe Commune was abolished, and the outskirts of each were divided into the original communes.In 1980, Yanghe Commune was restored, and in 1983, it was changed into Yanghe Township. As of June 2020, Yanghe Township has 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
