Suixi County, belonging to Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, is located on the Leizhou Peninsula in southwestern Guangdong Province, bordered by Beibu Gulf to the west and Zhanjiang Harbor Bay to the east, spanning between longitude 109°40′ and 110°25′ east and latitude 21°00′ and 20°31′ north, with a total jurisdictional area of 2,131.63 square kilometers. As of 2019, Suixi County has 15 towns and 1 township under its jurisdiction, and the county government is located in Suicheng Street. As of the end of 2021, Suixi County had a household population of 1,124,700.
In the second year of Tianbao of the Tang Dynasty (743), Tiepai County was changed to Suixi County, meaning "the streams merge together, and the people benefit from it". Suixi County belonged to Haikang County, the county seat of the present day Zhanjiang suburb of the old county village, which is the beginning of the name Suixi. 1961 divided into counties, restored the Suixi County system. Suixi County was under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang Prefecture (later changed to Zhanjiang District), and in September 1983, it was under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang City. Suixi County has always been a prosperous marketplace for economic trade in the northern part of the Leizhou Peninsula, one of the main commercial ports at the southern gate of China, and an important center for politics, military, economy, culture and transportation on the Leizhou Peninsula, known as "the backyard of Zhanjiang City", and the famous "Fish and Rice Township", "Chinese Fish and Rice Township" and "Chinese Fish and Rice Township". Suixi County is the famous "Hometown of Fish and Rice", "Hometown of Chinese Lion Dance", "the first sweet county in China" and the location of "Old Red Revolutionary Area" in western Guangdong.
In 2021, Suixi County will realize a GDP of 41.548 billion yuan.
