Weituo Town, belonging to Chongqing Hechuan District, is located in the western suburbs of Hechuan District on the banks of the Fulcrum River, east of Heyangcheng Street, south of Tongxi Town across the river, west of Tongliang District Anju Town across the river, north of Taihe Town, Dashi Street adjacent to the People's Government of Hechuan District, 17 km away from the seat of the people's government of the Hechuan District, the area covers a total area of 156.71 square kilometers.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Weituo Field was first built around Weituo Township; in December 1993, Weituo Township and Fangxi Township merged to establish Weituo Township. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Weituo Township was 82,475. As of June 2020, Weituo Township has 1 community and 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township's people's government is located at No. 27, Main Street, Weituo Field.
