Miyun District, under the Beijing Municipality. Located in the northeastern part of Beijing, it belongs to the intersection of Yanshan Mountain and North China Plain, and is adjacent to Chengde and Xinglong Counties in the east, Pinggu and Shunyi Districts in the south, Huairou District in the west, and Luanping County in the north. It is 69 kilometers long from east to west and 64 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 2,229.45 square kilometers. Miyun County, named for the Miyun Mountain (present-day Yunwu Mountain south of Fengning County) in the Northern Wei Dynasty, outside the Seychelles. In the Qin Dynasty, it was established as Yuyang County and Yuyang County. 1958, it was transferred to Beijing Municipality. 2015, Miyun County was abolished and Miyun District was established. It is the largest district in Beijing and a national ecological civilization advance demonstration area. Miyun Reservoir is located in the center of the area, and the quality of the water body has always been stable and maintained at the national second class drinking water standard. In 2022, the gross regional product of Miyun District was 36.19 billion yuan, an increase of 0.5% over the previous year.
