Fengtai District, part of Beijing, is one of the six districts of the main city of Beijing, located in the southern part of the main city of Beijing, bordering Chaoyang District to the east, Dongcheng District, Xicheng District, Haidian District, and Shijingshan District to the north, Mentougou District to the northwest, Fangshan District to the southwest, and Daxing District to the southeast, and covering a total area of 306 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Fengtai District has 24 streets and 2 towns under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Fengtai District had a resident population of 2.012 million. In 1952, Wanping County was abolished, and Fengtai District, Nanyuan District, and Shijingshan District were established under the Beijing Municipality.In 1958, most of Nanyuan District and Shijingshan District were merged into Fengtai District.In July 1963, the municipal Shijingshan Office was set up.In August 1967, the establishment of Shijingshan District was restored, and the Shijingshan Commune was transferred out of Fengtai District. Yongding River flows through Fengtai District, dividing Fengtai into two major areas, east and west of the river, and along the river from north to south formed Lianshi Lake, Yuanbo Lake, Xiaoyue Lake and Wanping Lake. There are many scenic spots in Fengtai District, and famous attractions include Beijing Garden Expo Park, Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression Memorial Museum, Dabaotai Western Han Dynasty Tomb Museum, Lotus Pond Park, China Garden Museum, and Beijing Joyful Water Magic Splash Park. In 2022, Fengtai District realized a GDP of 206.18 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry was 0.08 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 31.03 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry was 175.07 billion yuan. The structure of the three industries is 0.04:15.0:84.9. The per capita GDP of the district is 102,000 yuan based on the resident population.
