Dongsi Street, a street under the jurisdiction of Dongcheng District, Beijing, is located between longitude 116°24′39″~116°25′42″E and latitude 39°55′23″~39°55′56″N. It is located in the east-central part of Dongcheng District, neighboring Dongzhimen Street to the east and Chaowai Street to the west. It is located in the east-central part of Dongcheng District, neighboring Dongzhimen Street and Chaowai Street in Chaoyang District on Chaoyangmen North Street in the east, adjoining Chaoyangmen Street on Chaoyangmennei Street in the south, bordering Jingshan Street on Dongsibei Street in the west, and neighboring Beixinqiao Street on Dongsishitiao Street in the north. The maximum distance between the east and west of the district is 1391 meters, and the maximum distance between the north and south is 1100 meters, with a total area of 1.53 square kilometers.
During the Republic of China period, Dongsi area belonged to the inner three districts. after 1949, it belonged to the third district, Dongsi district and Dongcheng district successively. In April of the same year, the street government was built in Jibei Hutong, Baoyu Hutong, Dongshuiche Hutong, and Bajiao Hutong. 1955, there were three streets, Baoyu, Dongshuiche, and Xinsi, and in September 1958, they were merged to form Dongsi Street.
In 2011, Dongsi Street had a total population of 44,605, 28 commercial outlets, and a total revenue of 69.45 million yuan. As of June 2020, Dongsi Street has 7 communities under its jurisdiction.
